Rubbish Collection

In Trie, rubbish is disposed of via rubbish bins that are collected curb-side once a week. Bins must meet certain specifications in order to be compatible with rubbish collection vehicles, therefore they must be purchased from a specific supplier. The bins are available in two sizes (120 litres and 660 litres) and can be purchased from Plastic Omnium.

Recycling and Reuse

Recycling is collected curb-side every week in Trie. A recycling bin is provided by SMECTOM free of charge for each household and it remains the property of SMECTOM. In case of a change of address or if in need of a new bin, contact SMECTOM.

SMECTOM operates a “Recyclerie” in Lannemezan where usable items discarded at the Capvern déchètterie are inspected, cleaned and if necessary, repaired, so they can be resold for a second life. The scheme reduces waste and provides employment for at-risk people.

Tip/Dump

A centre for waste disposal (déchètterie), operated by SMECTOM, is available to residents of the Trie commune and is located on the route de Tarbes,  near the Point Vert garden centre. The déchètterie is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Composting / Green Waste

Household composters are available for purchase at the déchètterie for a nominal charge, payable only by cheque, made out to the Trésor Public.

From time-to-time, tree branches (up to 10cm in diameter) can be taken to the déchètterie for chipping. Customers can take their chips home to use as garden mulch. Contact the déchètterie for the next dates.
